01What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They are how the site remembers you between page loads, whether you have already opted in to analytics, what is in your chatbot conversation, and so on.

Some cookies are essential for the site to work. Others are optional and track behaviour to help us improve, or to attribute paid-ad spend. We list every cookie below.

02Functional cookies

Required for the site to operate. You cannot opt out of these without breaking core functionality.

• cgc-chat-state. Remembers your place in the chatbot conversation if you close and reopen. Session cookie, expires when you close the browser.
• cgc-cookie-consent. Remembers your cookie preferences so we do not ask again. Persists 12 months.
• cgc-locale. Remembers your language choice once multilingual support ships. Persists 12 months.

03Analytics cookies

These tell us how many people visit, which pages they read, and where they fall off. We do not see individuals, only aggregate patterns.

• _ga, _ga_*. Google Analytics 4. Distinguishes unique visitors, tracks session duration, page views, scroll depth. Persists 2 years, 26 months data retention.
• _gid. Google Analytics 4 session identifier. Persists 24 hours.

04Marketing cookies

If you arrived via a paid ad (Meta or Google), these cookies tell us the ad worked. They also help us build look-alike audiences to target similar investors.

• _fbp, _fbc. Meta Pixel. Tracks whether a Meta ad sent you here, and whether you converted. Persists 90 days.
• _gcl_au, _gcl_aw. Google Ads conversion tracking. Persists 90 days.
• fr. Meta's primary advertising cookie. Persists 90 days.

05Third-party cookies

Some pages embed third-party content that drops its own cookies:

• WhatsApp click-to-chat widget. Meta cookies when you click the WhatsApp button
• Spotify / Apple Podcasts embeds (on /podcast/), each platform sets its own cookies if you start playback
• YouTube embeds (where applicable), YouTube cookies when video plays
• Google Maps tiles on /communities/ and /schools/, Google may drop cookies

We do not control these cookies. Their behaviour is governed by the third party's own privacy and cookie policy.

06Managing cookies

You have three options:

1. Reject at the consent banner when you first land on the site. Functional cookies still apply, analytics and marketing turn off.
2. Update your preferences any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. Coming shortly.
3. Block in your browser. Every modern browser lets you block cookies entirely or per site. Help links:

07Changes to this policy

When we add or remove a tracking script, the cookie list above updates and the "Last updated" date at the top changes.
